Plexiglass Poker a Hit in Florida

We’ve been covering the ongoing reopening of the casino industry in America; South Dakota opened up and saw an increase in traffic. Thursday night, the poker room opened up at the Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa, complete with plexiglass tables, and it was roaring within two hours:

It’s hardly surprising that this was the case upon opening — with casinos closed and sports dead there’s been no ways to scratch the gambling itch for about two months (other than online poker, which is about as sure a way possible for people like me to guarantee losing money).

As I wrote last week, casinos’ customers are risk-seeking individuals, so I didn’t expect it to be a big hangup that other people are touching the same chips and cards.

This will all be worth monitoring to see if casinos can sustain their big reopen bumps, as well as what happens across the country as more and more of them open their doors.
